Mortgage
Any interest in, or power over, property
securing the obligations of a debtor or guarantor.
This can include real property mortgages, security
over a term deposit, equitable mortgages and chattel
securities.
Settlement Date
Date on which you, the new owner, will pay in
full for the property with the help of the lender.
An important date for all parties - new owner,
vendor (seller), each party's solicitors/conveyancers
and the lender. The settlement date is also called
the "Draw down" date, as this is the date the
loan is usually fully drawn.
